THE frame of a sunken yacht was pulled into Newcastle Harbour this morning after spending almost two weeks lying stagnant on the ocean floor.
The Woodstock, a vintage timber yacht, sunk off the coast of Newcastle Beach last month during a Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club race.
A salvage crew, including specialist divers, launched an operation yesterday to refloat and recover the vessel.
It was brought into the harbour about 10.30am today.
The Woodstock became holed after it was involved in a crash with a fibreglass boat, the Somersault, and dropped to the bottom of the ocean.
No one was injured in the collision, which occurred during a Spring Ocean Road Point Score event about 2pm on November 25.
