ANIMALS around the Hunter will either feel relieved or disappointed with the end of the festive season.
Many of the region’s pets have been shown off to friends and family dressed up in tinsel, santa’s hats and reindeer antlers over Christmas.
The Newcastle Herald was inundated with hundreds of the posing pet pictures after calling for submissions to the Christmas Pet Competition.
Creylln Collison’s entry of her cat, Max, surrounded by his favourite treats was picked as the winner in a random draw.
Ms Collison takes home a $250 voucher for PetStock Warners Bay and Adamstown, and will be able to spoil her favourite furry friend with some well-deserved goodies.
Among the most interesting entries were photos of birds, a goat and a hen decked out in festive colours.
