VIDEO: Opposition leader commutes from Maitland to Newcastle

OPPOSITION Leader John Robertson mingled with commuters from Maitland on his way to Newcastle to launch a campaign to save the Newcastle inner-city rail line this morning.

The state government announced last week that it would cut the rail line at Wickham station, which will mean commuters from Maitland will have to transfer to buses to complete their journeys.

Mr Robertson launched the campaign at Newcastle Station.
