THE rumours are true.
Guns N’ Roses are coming to Newcastle.
The rock heavyweights will perform an outdoor concert at Hunter Stadium in Broadmeadow on March 13 with support from blues rock legends ZZ Top and long-standing Australian pub rock band The Angels.
The Newcastle date is one of five on the upcoming Australian tour which also stops in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
The dates were revealed on a poster uploaded on the promoter’s Facebook page.
Tickets will be available through Proticket on a date yet to be confirmed.
Guns N’ Roses last toured Australia in 2010.
Formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1985, Guns N’ Roses established themselves as one of the world’s biggest rock bands.
The classic line-up consisted of vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler.
Rose is the only remaining original member of the band whose sales of albums including Appetite for Destruction, G N’ R Lies and Use Your Illusion I and II exceed 100 million worldwide.
The band’s back catalogue of songs includes Sweet Child O’ Mine, Welcome To the Jungle, Paradise City and November Rain.
