Police hunt couple over alleged kidnapping

FEDERAL police are searching for a couple who have allegedly kidnapped their four-year-old son from a Cessnock park on Boxing Day and vanished.

Authorities say they have ‘‘serious concerns’’ for the safety of Curtis Jack Ross after the boy was snatched from the park by his parents Rebecca Ellen Ross and Jason Robert Agocs.

The Federal Magistrates Court of Australia had issued an order that Curtis was to live with his maternal grandparents.

The court issued a recovery order for the return of Curtis on December28, and has now made a publication order to release information about Curtis and his parents in a bid to find him.

A statement said Curtis was still believed to be with Ms Ross and Mr Agocs or ‘‘persons associated with them and may be in the western suburbs area of Sydney’’.

‘‘The last known area that Ms Ross and Mr Agocs lived in was the Kurri Kurri area,’’ the statement said.

‘‘Although the child has only been missing for a short period of time there are serious concerns for his safety.’’

Curtis is described as having fair hair and brown eyes.

The boy is of average build and is around 120centimetres tall.

Mr Agocs is about 180centimetres tall, has brown hair and is of a solid build.

Ms Ross is about 175centimetres tall, has brown and blonde hair and is of a large build.
