THE struggle for female globe-trotters in finding the perfect handbag is a problem two Hunter sisters are aiming to solve.
After travelling the world, Meredith Young, 25, and sister Ainslie, 28, both realised the lack of options available.
The pair have decided to provide handbags suitable for travel that are still stylish and comfortable.
Combining qualifications in marketing and communications and a life-long passion for creating, the pair are in the process of launching their own handbag line, Young the Label.
Meredith said their range was inspired by travel and aimed at moving away from a mass consumer market.
‘‘We want to do small production runs so we have 80 bags to start with, in four different colours, and once they’re gone they’re essentially gone,’’ she said.
‘‘They won’t be produced in the same colour again.’’
The 100per cent leather and Australian-made products were what women around the world had been searching for, the sisters said.
‘‘Many females go through the same problem of what handbag to use when travelling,’’ Ms Young said.
‘‘We want to provide something that is going to be secure, comfortable, will fit everything inside and not make you look like a tourist.
‘‘It’s in demand.’’
Young the Label will launch in March and the Young sisters have set up a Facebook page and website so people can keep up to date with developments.
