A PENSIONER has had two expensive hearing aids damaged and suffered cuts after being bashed when he confronted an alleged hoon outside his Tanilba Bay home.
Police said the 56-year-old confronted a motorist who had allegedly lost control of his vehicle after doing a 50-metre burnout and mounting the gutter outside a Clemenceau Crescent house on Saturday night.
The motorist allegedly punched the pensioner in the head several times before the victim fell to the ground.
Two hearing aids, worth about $7000, were damaged in the process.
An 18-year-old was later charged with assault and driving offences and was granted conditional bail to appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court on February 13.
