Police officer knocked out by cooking pot

A MAN has been charged after assaulting a police officer on the Central Coast yesterday, allegedly knocking her unconscious and causing lacerations to her hand.

Brisbane Water Police went to Nambucca Drive, in South Woy Woy, at 12.45pm to arrest an 18-year-old man and 13-year-old boy in relation to an alleged assault.

Police were denied entry to the unit by a 29-year-old man.

Attempting to secure the premises, a female senior constable suffered hand cuts when the man allegedly slammed a kitchen window, smashing the glass, then threw a heavy cooking pot through the window which hit the officer’s jaw and knocked her unconscious.

A 13-year-old boy was charged with common assault and offensive language and was granted conditional bail to appear at Woy Woy Children’s Court on March 8.

An 18-year-old man was charged with common assault and granted conditional bail to appear at Woy Woy Local Court on March 5.

The 29-year-old was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court today.
