WHAT better way to while away a weekend morning than with breakfast overlooking Newcastle’s harbour? 

Whether it’s the leisure craft heading out for a hard day fishing, the tugboats going about their day-to-day work, a massive ship coming into the harbour or even just people watching, there’s plenty to keep you entertained.

The harbourside venue is open every day for casual eats in the bar, including a range of burgers, fish and chips, steak and chips and ‘‘fun’’ dishes, such as popcorn chicken, chilli fries and more. 

The restaurant menu offers something different again, with dishes from chef Michael Robinson and his team that draw on their international experience and the very best local produce.

Breakfast: House-made granola with rhubarb compote and sheep’s milk yoghurt $14; poached eggs with asparagus and hollandaise sauce $15; pain d’epices with whipped ricotta, honey and summer berries $15; sardines on toast with spiced tomato relish and salsa verde $16; house-cured gravalax with poached egg, apple and cress $18; Spanish-style baked eggs with with chorizo, tomato, saffron and manchego $18; The Landing ‘‘full English” breakfast with eggs, bacon, black pudding and tomato $19. All brunch dishes served with toasted sourdough.
