CANCER Council NSW’s Singleton office opens today.
Council regional manager Shayne Connell said the office in John Street would be a contact point where Upper Hunter residents could find out about services.
The office’s services focus on cancer prevention and support for people with the disease and their families.
Council statistics show about 1300 people die from cancer in the Hunter Region each year.
Present figures show more than 3000 people are diagnosed with the disease each year in the region.
The Singleton office will assist in raising money for cancer services and encourage volunteers to take part in activities.
