THE state government will form a squad to target illegal dumping in the Hunter. It is one of two to be formed in regional areas as part of a $58 million government program to reduce unlawful dumping.
The initiative is included in a draft strategy that will remain on exhibition until April 30.
The strategy outlines 23 actions to combat illegal dumping.
They include increased community engagement, improved waste facilities and campaigns to target dumpers.
