A CHINESE national accused of brutally murdering a woman in a Newcastle unit will face court again next week with the assistance of a Mandarin interpreter after a brief appearance this afternoon.
Zhaoyun Wang, 30, whose address was given as the Brown Street unit block where the killing took place, sat quietly before magistrate Ian Cheetham while the case was mentioned in Newcastle Local Court.
He was arrested after 3.30am yesterday and was charged with murdering Shan Wu, 30.
She was found dead in a living room in the unit after suffering multiple stab wounds.
Mr Zhaoyun did not apply for bail and did not enter a plea.
He will face court again next week.
