Newcastle Herald summer photo competition

The Newcastle Herald Summer Photo Competition – our annual search for the Hunter’s best backyard photographer, is on again.

Share with us your best picture and you could win one of three Canon digital camera packages with Tamron lenses from Domayne, Kotara.

All you have to do is capture a “summer moment” and send it in.

You can shoot with anything from an iPhone to a Box Brownie.

The best photo will win a Canon 1100D with 18-270mm Tamron lens valued at a total of $1398. Second prize is a Canon 1100D with 18-200mm Tamron lens valued at $998.

The competition will be judged by Herald chief photographer Darren Pateman, sections editor Lisa Rockman, news director Heath Harrison, multimedia producer Louise Fraser and editor Chad Watson.

This year we will also introduce a readers choice award where you can vote online for your favourite image from a list of finalists.

The winner will receive a Canon 1100D with 18-55mm Canon lens and a 70-300mm Tamron zoom lens, valued at $798.
