FOUR people have been arrested after an alleged fight that put a police officer in hospital in Maitland yesterday.
Police will allege they were attacked while attempting to arrest a 19-year-old man on Ken Tubman Drive about 2.40am yesterday.
Police allege a 38-year-old man, the teenager’s father, charged towards police and attempted to interfere in the arrest.
The father allegedly threw a punch that struck a senior constable in the right side of the head.
Police eventually capsicum sprayed the older man.
The 38-year-old man will face charges of assaulting police, resisting police and affray on June 25.
A 42-year-old woman, the man’s partner, was charged with assault police, affray and offensive language and will appear the same day.
Two 19-year-old males will face court next month, with one facing a count of hinder police and the other a common assault charge.
