Cannabis seized, 16 arrested in police raids

MORE than a dozen people have been arrested after police raided 18 premises across the Central Coast, Maitland and the mid-north coast this morning over what is claimed to be a major cannabis supply network.

Horse stables at Wyong and houses at Maitland, Forster and Sydney have all been raided simultaneously by squads of police.

An unknown quantity of cannabis has been seized and 16 people have been arrested.

The investigation was centred at Tuggerah Lakes local area command, which has its headquarters at Wyong.

Tuggerah Lakes crime manager Detective Chief Inspector Dave Waddell said the cannabis ring was allegedly dealing in large commercial quantities.
