HERE is a topic I think needs to be brought to everyone’s attention. If there is a footpath provided – walk on it. For the past two months I have been cycling around Broadmeadow racecourse and the number of people who choose to walk on the road is staggering.
There are footpaths around the entire perimeter of the racecourse, so why not use them? Yesterday I saw a woman pushing her baby in a stroller on the road, while also walking a dog. I feel great sympathy for the poor soul who may one day wind up having to explain their side of the story to a magistrate, because they have maimed or, worse still, killed, a pedestrian as a result of the pedestrian’s failure to consider they could be struck down by traffic.
