Dog stolen from Raymond Terrace yard

A DOG has been stolen from a Raymond Terrace yard a day after two men were seen out of the front of the house.

The bull mastiff-great dane cross called Striker was taken from the Charles Street address yesterday.

Port Stephens police are on alert for a suspicious utility driving around suburban streets.

Police said the yard was well-secured and there were no signs that the dog had escaped.

‘‘The owner told police two males were sighted out the front of her house the previous evening, but when she approached them they ran off,’’ police said in a statement.

The males were aged between 20 and 30. One of them was wearing a yellow fluorescent work shirt and the other was wearing dark clothing and a red cap.

Striker was described as being black with a white stripe on his nose and chest.
