An elderly woman has suffered lower leg injuries after she was impaled on a wire fence in Cessnock this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Subiaco Avenue about 4.35pm.
Officers from the Cessnock Volunteer Rescue Association worked to free the woman from the fence and she was transported to hospital by ambulance at 5pm.
