A FEMALE has been dragged under the wheels of a car in an attempted bag snatch in Newcastle this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Scott Street about 5pm after an occupant of a black Toyota 300ZX attempted to grab a female’s handbag, police said.
It’s believed the woman held onto her bag and was dragged under the wheels of the car.
Newcastle City police arrested a male at the scene.
Police were still looking for a female offender.
The victim was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
