Wheelhouse expected to return for Jets trial tomorrow

CAPTAIN Jobe Wheelhouse is expected to return from a foot injury in the Jets pre-season trial against Northern NSW Select at Darling St Oval tomorrow.

Wheelhouse had surgery two months ago to remove a bursa on the outside of his left foot which had troubled him for most of last A-League season.

He missed the opening two pre-season trials against Broadmeadow Magic and Canberra Rockets.

But he as been back in full training for a week and Jets assistant coach Craig Deans said the wholehearted midfielder was likely to play 20 to 30 minutes against the best of the local league.

The match, which kicks off at 6.30pm, will also be the first opportunity Newcastle fans get to see Swiss left back Dominik Ritter in action.
