A BLACKALLS Park man facing seven weapons charges has had another 48 brought against him today.
Firearms and Organised Crime Squad detectives laid the additional charges against the man, 26, when he appeared in Toronto Local Court.
The new charges include 45 counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without a permit, two counts of import prohibited imports and unauthorised possession of a prohibited firearm.
The Newcastle Herald has reported the man was arrested at his Blackalls Park home on December 20 last year.
He was charged with seven offences relating to weapons and parts police allege he possessed illegally.
The items included an AR-15 semi-automatic assault rifle, a crossbow with scope and pistol magazines.
Police will allege the man possessed prohibited machine guns, sub machine guns, and over-capacity firearm magazines suitable for 9mm semi-automatic pistols.
They will further allege he imported two consignments of firearm parts from America illegally.
The fresh charges lodged yesterday came after several other firearms and parts seized from the property underwent ballistic analysis.
The man is due to reappear in court on August 22.
