DETECTIVES investigating the death of a teenager who was killed by a king hit in Kings Cross have arrested a man in Sydney’s south-west.
Thomas Kelly, 18, was punched as he walked along Victoria Street just after 10pm on July 7.
Mr Kelly, who was talking on his mobile phone at the time of the assault, collapsed on the ground and later died in hospital.
Strike Force Mohawk, comprising detectives from the Homicide Squad and police from Kings Cross local area command, have been investigating the incident.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives attended a sports field at Belmore about 7.30pm tonight and arrested and 18-year-old man.
He was taken to Campsie police station where he is being questioned by detectives.
Inquiries are continuing.
