THE Knights are on the edge of the NRL top eight after a comprehensive 36-6 victory over the Raiders at Canberra Stadium today.
It was Newcastle’s third straight win and fifth from their past six matches, meaning they have joined the Titans, Dragons and Tigers on 22 points with five rounds remaining, though the Tigers are in the middle of a game against South Sydney at ANZ Stadium.

Newcastle’s second straight victory over the Raiders in Canberra has set up their biggest home game of the season, against NRL leaders Canterbury at Hunter Stadium next Saturday at 5.30pm.
The Bulldogs have won nine straight games to surge into NRL favouritism.
Kevin Naiqama scored two of Newcastle’s six tries, and Darius Boyd and Robbie Rochow scored their first in Knights colours.
