PENRITH will confirm today that Knights forward Kyle O’Donnell will join them from next season on a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old, a younger brother of former Cowboys, NSW and Australian back-rower Luke O’Donnell, is in the second season of a two-year deal with the Knights.
The former Junior Kangaroo has played just one NRL match, lasting seven minutes for Newcastle in the 34-14 loss to South Sydney on July 8 before being knocked out by a Sam Burgess shoulder charge.
He made four runs, including two tackle breaks, for 44 metres and completed three tackles in his short-lived debut.
Starting second-rower Joel Edwards will also leave the Knights at the end of the season after rejecting a two-year extension with his home-town club.
