TRAFFIC has resumed on the New England Highway after an accident at Rutherford closed a westbound lane this morning.
Roads and Maritime Services issued a warning about 7.40am for the accident near Alexandra Avenue at Rutherford.
The alert said the accident had involved a car and truck, with a parked car pushed into a nearby front yard.
The traffic alert was lifted after about an hour.
Paramedics said a woman and child were taken to Maitland Hospital in a stable condition after three people were assessed on scene.
