POLICE are investigating following a death in custody at Cessnock Correctional Centre this morning.
The man, 60, was found dead in a cell by officers about 9am.
A Correctional Services spokesman confirmed the investigation was underway.
‘‘NSW Police will conduct an investigation into the man’s death and prepare a report for the information of the coroner,’’ he said.
‘‘At this stage there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.’’
