Cessnock Road crash at Neath: accident captured on dashcam video

VIDEO has emerged of a near-miss at Neath, capturing the moment when one driver narrowly evaded hitting another after it crashed into a tree on Cessnock Road.

The video shows the car passing on the left hand side instants before it strikes a tree, ricocheting back into the path of the vehicle taking the footage.

The second driver is forced to pull to the other side of the road to evade the wreckage.

The Newcastle Herald reported on Wednesday that paramedics took a man to the John Hunter Hospital after he was injured in the crash.

An Ambulance NSW spokesman said on Tuesday that paramedics were called to the scene near Kemp Street about 2pm after reports a car struck a tree and rolled.

A man aged in his 30s was the only patient, the spokesman said.
