POLICE have taken a man into custody following the armed robbery of the Hungry Jacks fast food outlet at Hexham this morning.

The man was arrested at a Beresfield address, several hours after the restaurant was held-up by a suspect armed with a handgun.
Trains on the Hunter line were suspended while police were searching the rail corridor for the man believed responsible for the hold-up of the Maitland Road restaurant about 9.45am.
The line was suspended between Newcastle and Telarah railway stations.
