Service offers audio alerts on F3 hold-ups

NEWCASTLE engineer Rod Breis has launched a service that will give  motorists the latest news on incidents and travel times on the F3.

He said the service, ‘‘F3 Voice Alerts’’, differed from other online traffic systems because it was  audio-based, allowing incidents to be explained in greater detail and over more platforms than traditional text-based systems.

Mr Breis said the service would deliver a single traffic update simultaneously over Facebook, Twitter, email, RSS Feed as well as being broadcast to UHF CB radios installed in more than  10,000 trucks,  which  use the freeway every day.

‘‘We are currently in discussions to interface F3 Voice Alerts with the internal PA systems at service stations,’’ he said.

‘‘This will allow motorists to keep up to date while stopping for a break.’’
