THE owner of the truck company whose truck was involved in the Singleton accident has expressed his sympathy for the family of the boy who died at the scene.
Adam McCarthy of McCarthy's Transport said he had five children of his own and was shocked by the accident.
"We feel terrible for what's happened. Our hearts go out to the family," he said last night.
Mr McCarthy, who was not driving the truck at the time, said the family trucking business had been operating 40 years and had a good safety record.
He said he did not know who was at fault but was concerned for everyone injured.
Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian also said last night: "My deepest sympathy goes out to the young boy's family and friends, classmates, and the Singleton community for their terrible loss."
