A YOUNG father has been killed after a car he was working under fell and crushed him on his Wyee driveway.
Police said the man, 22, was working on the vehicle on Saturday afternoon when it crashed down on him outside his Ruttleys Road home.
He was found by family members but could not be saved.
Meanwhile, a man who was struck by a car at Belmont on Friday night has died in hospital.
Police said the 78-year-old had parked his car and was walking his 74-year-old wife across Ross Street towards the Belmont 16 Footers club when he was hit by a Toyota Camry.
The man was worked on at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
He died on Saturday morning.
The man’s wife, as well as the 81-year-old woman driving the Camry along Evans Street with her 80-year-old husband, were not injured.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
