Green to take Weyman's place

By Glenn Jackson

JON GREEN will replace suspended front-rower Michael Weyman for St George Illawarra against Gold Coast tonight at Skilled Park. Ricky Thorby will join the bench, with Michael Lett dropping off it. Jake Marketo is the 18th man. Neville Costigan (arm) did not complete yesterday's training session but is still expected to make his first appearance for the season.

Gold Coast have no injury concerns. Will Matthews is expected to drop off an extended bench, with Riley Brown getting the nod.

Both Wests Tigers and the Bulldogs are expected to be 1-17 tonight. There is some concern over Tigers interchange player Alan Schirnack (knee). Willie Mataka is on standby.

Newcastle centre Wes Naiqama has been ruled out of tomorrow's clash with North Queensland after injuring his back during a gym session. Keith Lulia will replace him. Halfback Scott Dureau is in doubt with a hip problem. The Cowboys are expected to be 1-17.

Roosters forward Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has passed a fitness test on his shoulder injury. The Roosters' opponents tomorrow night, the Raiders, are expected to be 1-17.

Micheal Luck (hand) will not be making a comeback for the Warriors against Penrith on Sunday, although Jerome Ropati (hamstring) could return. Penrith should be as named.

Brisbane lock Corey Parker (knee) could be a late addition to the line-up against Cronulla on Sunday. Prop Nick Kenny (back) is in doubt. Teenager Corey Norman, named on an extended bench, will play Toyota Cup. The Sharks should be 1-17.

Souths are bracing for a double blow before their clash with Parramatta on Sunday, with captain Roy Asotasi (knee) struggling to be fit and Michael Crocker (various injuries) in doubt to make his season debut. The Eels are expected to be as named.

Melbourne should be as named for their Monday night clash with Manly. The Sea Eagles are yet to reveal who will replace the suspended Brent Kite.
