LETTER: A chance wasted to stop the boats

ONCE again I believe Tony Abbott has shown his lack of ticker.

For the second time he has failed to bring up the centrepiece of his own border protection policy - turning the boats back - during his meeting with the Indonesian president.

Mr Abbott knows the Indonesian government will never agree to his populist policy, so he knows there is no point bringing it up.

In my opinion, Mr Abbott would be better off leaving foreign policy for the Coalition to someone like Malcolm Turnbull.

Mr Abbott could stay at home hurling insults across the parliamentary chamber, something he seems to excel at.
