Knifepoint Charlestown robbery

POLICE are appealing for public help after a Charlestown pizza shop was robbed at knifepoint shortly before closing time last night.

Police said the man entered the Pacific Highway pizza shop about 11.30pm as a manager and male employee were closing up.

The thief jumped the counter, produced a knife and demanded cash from the two workers.

He took cash from the till before fleeing north on the highway.

The man has been described as aged in his late 40s, 170cm with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing dark blue pants, a black shirt with a white motif, a hoodie and rubber thongs.
