Boy stabbed at Caves Beach

A teenage boy is in a serious condition in hospital after he was stabbed in the abdomen at a party near Caves Beach on Saturday night. 

A group of teenagers were gathered at Spoon Rocks beach at about 9.45pm when an argument broke out between the victim, 15, and another male. 

It’s alleged the altercation turned violent and the 15-year-old boy was stabbed once in the lower left abdomen. 

Following the fight the unknown assailant and several other party-goers fled the area. 

Friends helped the injured boy to a nearby home where emergency services were contacted. 

He was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He remains in a serious but stable condition. 

Lake Macquarie police established a crime scene and seized several items for forensic analysis.
