Most of the time, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter is a visitor from the skies that a school could do without.
But it was with a different mission in mind – to educate students about the importance of not-for-profit emergency services – that the chopper touched down at Garden Suburbs Primary School on Tuesday morning.
Students had the opportunity to put questions to crew members and meet Saturday Disney host Candice Dixon, an ambassador for the service.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter celebrated its 40th anniversary last year and has undertaken more than 30,000 missions since 1975, helping to save thousands of lives.
The Service works as part of the State’s emergency care chain and has four helicopters that operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
