Clare Rogers, owner of The Argenton Hotel, is hosting a series of “Drive in Movie Nights” over the holiday break, on Thursday, September 26 and Thursday, October 6.

Kids will be able to make and sit in their very own mini cardboard box cars while they watch Disney favourites Kung Foo Panda 1 and 2 on a giant outdoor TV screen. All car-making materials, including the cardboard box, are BYO and parents are encouraged to get involved with the kids in the craft process.

“As a Mum with three, I know how much of a challenge it can be to take small kids to the movies,” Ms Rogers. “I’m always that mum at the cinema who ends up escorting their kids out halfway through the movie when they ‘lose their lollies’. The idea is that Mum and Dad can get here after work, get the kids fed, and have a bite to eat while the kids get crafty and build their mini cardboard cars. If the kids do lose their cool, there is a giant playground for them to burn some energy and have a little time out.”

“We are encouraging mums and dads to get there with the little ones around 4:30pm to 5pm to grab a seat, enjoy an early dinner and allow time to create the cardboard cars with the kids,” Ms Rogers said. “The movie screening will commence at 6:30pm, which ensures the kids don’t get home too late. It’s also getting a little warmer now, however, we are encouraging parents to bring a small rug for comfort.”
