LAKE Macquarie teenager Caileb Gerrard has risen quickly through the ranks at the Roos.

The NSW Country under-18s winger hopes to continue the pace in the NIB Sprint which is being held before the first grade decider on Saturday. The winner of the fastest man in the union receives $250 and their club a $250 voucher. All Premier clubs as well four divisional clubs will be represented.

* Hamilton coach Scott has been in demand this week. In one of the all-time great grand-final pranks, a larrikin posted an add on Gumtree classifieds website offering free budgies and gave Coleman’s number as the contact.

“The phone didn’t stop ringing,” Coleman fumed. “I got that removed and then an add for free NRL grand final tickets went up. I have narrowed the suspects down to 1000.”

* Jarryd Logan will officiate his fourth straight first grand final on Saturday. The inaugural Social 4’s decider between arch rivals Wanderers and Merewether kicks off grand final day at 10am.
