At a cost of $5 million and weighing 240 tonnes, Eraring Power Station’s new transformer has arrived.
Eraring executive manager Jeff Hogan said it would take two weeks ‘‘to position it into place and connect it to the grid and onto our generator’’.
‘‘It’s not a five-minute job this,’’ Mr Hogan said.
The truck delivering the equipment had more than 220 wheels and was about 50m long
The transformer will replace the unit that was damaged in an explosion and fire in October last year.
