Man charged with drugsupply offence after alleged $100,000 Charlestown cocaine find on Dudley Road

A MAN stopped in Charlestown will face court over allegations he possessed more than $100,000 worth of cocaine. 

The 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Belmont police station on Thursday, where he was charged with deemed supply prohibited drug commercial quantity. 

Police will allege officers from Lake Macquarie command were patrolling Dudley Road about 2pm when they stopped a vehicle.

Officers spoke to the driver before searching him and his vehicle. 

Police said they found less than 500 grams of a white powdered substance, which they will allege is cocaine.

The 30-year-old was refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court on Friday.
