HUNTER Valley Grammar School has invited parents from other schools to an upcoming information evening about how to support their children’s learning in the years leading into the Higher School Certificate.
Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia director and school principal Paul Teys will speak to parents about the role they can play to help their children be successful.
“Parents need to parent their children – not retreat or withdraw,” Mr Teys said.
“They have a vital role to play in their young person’s life and should be involved and informed.
“Parents need to be upbeat and supportive, but also make sure their children are making good decisions, exercising the right judgement and their moral actions are strong. There also needs to be a strong relationship between parents and the school.”
5.30pm for a 6pm start, Monday October 17, The Latter Hall at HVGS. RSVP to Ana Stratton firstname.lastname@example.org or call 4931 0713.
