Liesl Tesch will be inducted into the Basketball Australia hall of fame next month.
The 47-year-old, raised at Lake Macquarie, has been recognised for her efforts in wheelchair basketball.
She was the first Australian woman to play the sport professionally in Europe during the early 2000s.
Tesch wore the green and gold at five Paralympics between 1992 and 2008, winning two silver medals and one bronze.
She then switched to sailing and won back-to-back Paralympic gold medals.
