UPDATE 8.50am:

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has rescued a 37-year-old male with multiple injures who was trapped in his car this morning.

The man’s four-wheel-drive collied with a truck on Rutleys Road and he had to be released by emergency services personnel. 

The helicopter has landed at Vales Point Power Station helipad and will be flown to the John Hunter.

EARLIER:

THE Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been called to a car and truck accident on the notorious Rutleys Road at Mannering Park.

Reports indicate a 37-year-old male is trapped inside a vehicle and emergency services are on the scene.

Traffic could be affected, and motorists are advised to drive carefully in the area.

Eight people have lost their lives on the “death corridor” in as many years.
