Junior World Cup dream alive for Hockeyroo Mariah Williams

Mariah Williams may have missed Olympic gold with the Hockeyroos in Rio in August but she is now just two wins away from Junior World Cup glory in Chile.

The 21-year-old Souths player is part of the Australian Jillaroos team set to face Argentina in Friday’s semi-final.

The winner will meet either Spain or The Netherlands in the decider on Sunday.

The Jillaroos moved into the top four after easily accounting for Belgium 7-2 in Thursday’s quarter-final.

Two days before Williams scored a goal in a 2-1 last-round victory over the hosts in Santiago. Earlier in the group stage Australia defeated South Africa (7-0) and drew with England (1-all).
