AN old friend of Newcastle harbour returned on Friday with hundreds of new faces.
Sleek cruise ship Radiance of the Seas, which contains a rock-climbing wall and more than 1000 cabins, arrived under clear morning skies from Auckland.
It and its 850 crew are due to continue onto Sydney at 5pm.
The ship is a regular visitor to Newcastle, making several stops. It will return in April as part of the 2017 season.
Silver Whisper is the next cruise ship listed for a Hunter visit, and is slated for an afternoon arrival on February 4.
The Celebrity Solstice, Pacific Aria, Sun Princess and Pacific Jewel are also due to visit in the 2017 season.
