SATURDAY

Carolfest 2016 3pm to 4pm, Adamstown Uniting Church. An afternoon of music and carol singing. A jumping castle for the kids will be set up from 2.30pm.

2016 Movies In The Parc 6.30pm to 9.30pm, Heritage Parc, 99 Racecourse Road, Rutherford. Outdoor screening of the movie Inside Out next to Pelican Playground. Entry is free and if you RSVP prior to the event, you’ll receive free popcorn and a snow cone on the night.

Charity Christmas Tree Carnival 11am to 2pm, 150 Beaumont Street, Hamilton. The Hamilton Wesley Uniting Church will come alive again this year with 16 magnificent themed Christmas trees. Vote for your favourite.

Your donation will make a real difference this Christmas to the charities that these trees represent.

Heart Foundation Fundraiser 10am to 2pm, 19 Glenwood Drive, Thornton. Local businesses raising awareness about heart health. A fun day for the family with a gladiator ring, face painting, car wash and a raffle. In memory of Dale Green.

Christmas at Gallipoli Legion Club 1pm to 5pm, 3-5 Beaumount Street, Hamilton. Christmas lunch for members and guests.  

Carols at Swansea 5pm onwards, Chapman Oval, Channel Street, Swansea. Featuring children’s show The Jitterbugs, market and food stalls, rides, fireworks, a visit from Santa and more.  

Carols In Gregson Park 6.3pm onwards, Lindsay Street, Hamilton. Entertainment from The Pretty Amazing Jono. Wet weather venue: Hamilton Public School hall.

SUNDAY

Lemon Jam 4pm to 8pm, Henderson Park, Lemon Tree Passage. A free, all-ages monthly music event  with children’s activities, raffles and more.

Christmas Carols in Lambton Park 5pm to 9pm. Market stalls and activities – everything from jumping castles and rides to balloon animals – plus food trucks. The carols kick off at about 7pm, the fireworks about 9pm.

Carols By The Beach 7pm to 9pm, Empire Park, Merewether. Carols to sing along to, fun activities for children, a fireworks display and a visit from Santa Claus.

SAVE THE DATE

Newcastle Permanent's Cinema Under The Stars returns to King Edward Park on January 7 with a screening of Zootopia when the sun goes down. The entertainment kicks off at 5.30pm with circus workshops by Circus in Education, live musicians on stage and Blackbutt Reserve’s Critter Encounter. It’s Maitland’s turn on January 13, when Kung Fu Panda 3 is screened at Maitland Park.
