THIS recycled dress made of bus tickets certainly gets the pass mark when it comes to environmentally conscious attire.

But Jaymie Richards's creation was one of many examples of the conservational haute couture donned by students at Lambton High yesterday for Green Day.

It was the 16th annual Green Day, which aims to raise awareness of environmental issues in the school community.

Jessica Provost, a member of the organising committee, known as the Green Team, said the theme for this year's event was biodiversity.

"We want to make sure the massive range of flora and fauna in ecosystems is looked after," the year 11 student said.

"There is no point having just one Green Day when the next the school is littered with rubbish and we need to protect the earth's resources now so they are there for the future," she said.
