Kearsley trainer Bryan Young was thrilled to get on the podium on Golden Easter Egg night at Wentworth Park after Goodwin Terry finished second in The Ultra Sense Final.
Penny Monelli won the 4th/5th grade feature, almost four lengths clear of Goodwin Terry. The race was Young’s biggest as a trainer across 17 years.
Fullerton Cove trainer Max Rimmer’s Patch Adam was third in the group 3 New Sensation.
Chevy King won the race ahead of Rohan Hill.
Goodwin Terry was knocked out of the Golden Easter Egg heats and Young was pleased to get a result in the support series.
“It was a thrill to be on the podium and it was really good fun to watch him go around,” Young said. “He tried his heart out.
“It was probably the hottest race he’s been in but from box two I thought he might have had a chance if he tracked through, which he did.
“But that one from Western Australia is a very good dog, and she beat him in the heat.”
Striker Light won the Golden Easter Egg for trainer Brett Bravo.
