HAMILTON coach Scott Coleman agreed to loan prop Faavae Sila to brother and Warringah coach Darren for five weeks.

But given the tightheads performance, the Hawks may struggle to get him back.

Sila made his first-grade debut off the bench in a 76-5 win over Penrith on Saturday.

“Faavae is going really well,” Darren said. “He came on at the weekend and won two tightheads. Bubba has stipulated it is only a five-week loan but I might have to have a chat to him. We had some prop injuries and they have a disjointed start with a couple of byes. He will be on the bench against Eastwood this week.”

Sila is one of four Newcastle players at the Rats alongside fellow Hawks Tiueti Asi and Chris Pusi and Wanderers back-rower Dan Martine.

Asi started in the opening round and has been a fresh reserve in the past two games. Pusi, who is back-up to Luke Holmes, played off the bench in round one.

Martine scored in his first grade debut on Saturday but limped off after 15 minutes with a strained hamstring.
