THREE young girls have been found in a stolen car at Taree South, more than 500km from where the car was allegedly taken on the Gold Coast.
Police were called to a Bucketts Way service centre about 4pm on Monday after the four-wheel drive was seen parked outside.
It had been reported stolen from Queensland earlier that day.
A police statement said officers found a 15-year-old girl in the driver’s seat, with two other girls, aged 13 and 12, as passengers.
Police will allege the eldest girl had driven to Taree in the 4WD.
The children are in the care of the NSW Department of Family and Community Services.
The driver has been dealt with under the Young Offender’s Act.
